Especially with the steel strum guitar but I wont go there Ive got all spitfire stuff. In any case it was extremely difficult to get them to work at this tempo and I still had to layer the HS cellos behind them to make it work the opening figure. My favourite thing in the whole adagio collection is probably the basses spiccs. When you do a line like this in Hollywood Strings only though, the machine gun effect just kills you. We've all been challenged by it! The strings highs patches are great for melody playing, but the low stuff, not so.

I would really recommend looking at the VSL SE or chamber strings to start if you're willing to deal with the pricetagand getting the adagio libraries as a "fill in", to use in those situations where you need an expressive sounding patch more than you need playability.

Good luck in building your orchestral palette. The cellos are my favourite Adqgio instrument. I can answer more specific questions about it if need be. Great for general pads, chords etc.

I deliberately tried to put the cellos to the test in this regard as I did with Hollywood Strings and Brass in various ways to see how well they would do. I'm really wanting something that's expressive.

Loving the sound of the bow changes and natural swells. I'm a big cello fan, so the swells being baked in isn't an issue as most of the stuff I write is around a low chord structure and ostinatos. The demos all sound gorgeous as do all 8dio demos which has let me down in the past. Especially with the steel strum guitar but I wont go there Ive got all spitfire stuff.

I know embertone will be bringing out Blakus Cello soon, but with having the violn already I feel the cello as with the violin aadagio be a top class one trick pony for solo work only.

Having watched Muso's video he said you have to pick your tempo carefully. The composition in there has a bit of Albion and Loegria mixed in as well.

They're a bit hard to handle but I have been recently informed that you can flatten the arc out using the control features in the Adagio interface.

I only say that because another post here a while back complained about how hard it was to do fast legato lines with Adagio violins Everywhere Threads This forum This thread.

What 8duo you mean about the stereo imaging? Forums Latest Posts Search forums. A lot of the swells that you hear in the videos are hard coded into the patches -- if you look at one of the demo vids, you can hear swells when the mod wheel isn't being used.
